You can't get a job much better than mine. The people I interview, the things they teach me, the incredibly talented people with whom I collaborate inspire me every day.
I am so thankful for my beginnings in Detroit, Associate and Co-Producing with a remarkable documentary team, Bob Berg and Stephen Palackdharry. They taught me to love an image, and a beautiful turn of phrase. To listen. They believed in giving everything you had, working hard, caring first and foremost, and laughing a lot...an example I've tried to follow.
I'm most excited with the opportunity to highlight people and programs finding solutions to seemingly intractable problems. I've covered education, the environment, welfare reform, poverty, trafficking, programs that helped youth at-risk, gender equality issues, health, science and technology among others. In the past few years I've been fortunate to work with KQED covering social issues and the arts.
I carry all the people I've interviewed over the years with me. They've given me so much by sharing their stories, and I am eternally grateful.
